Halloween Fun (Without the Sugar Rush!)
- Bear and Cub Play Centre

If your little ghoul is under five, Halloween can feel like a tricky balance. You want the fun, not the bedtime sugar spiral. At Bear and Cub, we are all about calm, creative play that still feels special. So this Halloween week, Thursday 31 October and the days around it, we are dialling up the magic and keeping the overstimulation down.
Here is how we are encouraging a joyful, gentle, and mostly sugar free Halloween.
Dress ups that feel safe and adorable
Think - Friendly pumpkins, soft capes, star wands, glow bracelets, animal ears.
Skip - Masks that limit vision, scratchy fabrics, and spooky surprises that might overwhelm sensitive kiddos.
Tip for parents
Let your child practice their costume at home so Halloween day feels familiar, not scary.
Sensory play with a Halloween twist
Play dough play station and seasonal sensory set ups designed for ages 0 to 5. Calming, tactile, and open ended.
Photo opportunities for memories and grandparents We will have a simple backdrop with soft pumpkins and toddler sized props. No pressure and no queues, just natural snaps between play. If your child is not into photos, that is okay too.
Calm first environment, always we are Bendigo’s only play centre designed specifically for ages 0 to 5, which means clear sight-lines for parents, soft play zones for littles, and a friendly, low stimulation vibe, even on Halloween.
